Competent & Patient Teachers
Students who often stop learning a musical instrument at younger ages often do so because of the unpleasant experiences that they have had with their teachers. Therefore, at Bikkurim studios we are very articular about finding the teachers who are not just great instructors, but those who are patient and enjoy the process of teaching. Our method is line with the RCM music syllabus.
Attentive to details
Nothing drives us more passionate as teachers as when we see the best achievement by our students. We pride ourselves in instilling in them the best of our knowledge, and we only achieve that by going above and beyond and delving into the details that will help them develop into the refined musicians that we want them to be.

Getting Ready For an Exam
But...why take an exam?
At Bikkurim Music Studios, we follow the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) and Suzuki Syllabi as our means of instruction and we have made it necessary for students to undergo music exams for the sake of their musical development assessment but also as a means to evaluate their performance delivery and confidence. Exams are a major focus of private music lessons not only in Canada but in musical institutions across the world and we try to encourage our students to register for them. A mentioned earlier, music exams can be a great performance opportunity and chance to receive feedback from different piano teachers.. They also help to focus solely on standard repertoires that are played at the most music schools and conservatories across the country. Students are tested in four streams of music appreciation: technical requirements, études, theory, history, ear-training & sight-reading, and repertoire all significantly contributing to the holistic evaluation of a student's comprehension of the levels. If a student understands fully these streams, then they are on their way to becoming a well-rounded musician. Thanks to the RCM for these exams and their syllabus, teaching the subjects has been made relatively easier for teacher to organize their lessons.
